In the late 1980's my friend, Glenna, gave me a movie to watch entitled "Milo and Otis". After watching this movie I knew that some day I would have to have a Pug.
Pugs are called the clown of the dog world for good reason. Just looking at their faces causes a smile to break out. How can you resist those big buggy eyes and flat little noses.
Having a Pug own you is a satisfying experience because it has a very outgoing sweet temperament. They can be strong-willed and will not always try to please you. But they are always warm and cuddly, very even tempered and extremely charming. They make the ideal best furry friend because all they want in life is to play and and love. They make great family pets because they are sturdy and dignified in appearance. They make the perfect apartment dog because they are compact and very socail. They are a big dog in a small body.
Pugs can always be on the go, very interested in everything going on around them. They can be easily distracted and self-willed. Easily spoiled because they are lovable. Its that lovability that causes you to overlook their jumping on people and furniture, and mouthing you, not biting though.
it takes a lot of patience to train a Pug. Repition of every command is the way to teach them. And they do well with lots of praise for a job well done.
Otis is the daddy of all fawn pugs here. He is a beautiful specimen of Pug perfection. He grunts and snorts and holds my hand. I thought that an odd behavior when he started it. But I have read that that is equivalent to people holding hands. He has lived with us since he was 3 months old and we have enjoyed every day with him. Otis is registered with AKC, APRI, ACA and UABR. His pedigree does not hold any champions, but I do know his breeder and she said her AKC inspector has told her that her dogs are definite show quality. Showing dogs is very time consuming and expensive, so I don't show either. I feel assured that Otis would take many points in shows. He is gorgeous. I don't feel that Champion Bloodlines make any better pets. Pets come not from their elite bloodlines, but from the love and handling that the breeder and new owner show them.
Daisey and Kiera are my momma Fawn Pugs. Daisey is a gentle natured girl and Kiera is always looking for some mischief to get into to. I think Kiera's behavior is all my fault. I bought her when she was only 6 1/2 weeks old and we showered her with attention. Daisey just takes every day as it comes. She is a delight! But, Kiera is the queen of the Pug game "catch me if you can".
If you check out my "New Family" page, you will see pictures there of Billie. She belongs to Bob and Jolene in Nebraska. She is the daughter of Otis and Daisey. There are several pictures of her there. Jolene sent me a DVD entitled the "Adventures of Billie". She is hilarious. They have done a marvelous job with her and she repays them for their good care.
If you look at my "About Us" page, you will see pictures of Miles there. Miles is my constant companion. He wants to be wherever I am and laying beside me or on top of me all the time. Miles had a serious eye injury when he was 6 weeks old. Even with treatment, he lost his eye. I became attached to him, so he just became one of my best 4-legged friends. He follows me everywhere I go in the house, with a stuffed animal in his mouth. His favorite has a squeaker in it, which he squeaks constantly. At times I will not notice that he didn't get through a door with me and if I close the door I hear him snorting outside laying against the door as close as he can get. Pugs do snore and Miles is the cheif of the snorers. I crate him at night, I don't think Gene would get much sleep in bed with Miles and myself.
There is Bella who lives in Califormia. I don't have any pictures of her, but hear occasionally from her new family. Her vet was impressed with her personality from her first visit with him. Her family truly loves her.
Then Charlie who lives in Oregon, his pictures are on my "New Family" page. His owner sent me pictures in the mail before I got the webiste, I need to scan them on here. He is really pretty.
There are many more who have joined families across the country and I have never had a negative comment made about any of them. They have the perfect looks and personality you are looking for.
